The Corvette Grand Sport concept originated in 1963 when Zora Arkus-Duntov secretly built five lightweight racing Corvettes intended to compete at Le Mans. Each Grand Sport featured an aluminium body, a special 377 cubic inch V8, and reduced weight that made them significantly faster than the production Sting Ray. Although General Motors' corporate racing ban shut down the official programme, the five Grand Sport Corvettes competed privately and demonstrated extraordinary potential. The Grand Sport name was revived for production Corvettes in 1996, 2010, and 2017, each time signifying a model with enhanced performance and track-ready capability. These 3D domed wheel center cap emblems carry that Grand Sport racing origin. A premium vinyl base reproduces the Chevrolet Corvette emblem in vivid, factory-matched color, and a thick coat of crystal-clear resin cures into a raised dome with genuine three-dimensional depth and a polished, high-gloss finish.
