The Ford GT40 program that Shelby managed to victory at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans is one of the greatest stories in motorsport. After being rejected by Enzo Ferrari in a takeover bid, Henry Ford II commissioned a race car to beat Ferrari at their own game. Shelby American was brought in to develop the GT40 Mk II, and the car finished 1-2-3 at Le Mans in 1966 — a devastating display of American engineering that ended Ferrari's six-year winning streak at the Circuit de la Sarthe. The victory was repeated in 1967, 1968, and 1969, establishing Shelby and Ford as endurance racing royalty. These 3D domed wheel center cap emblems carry that Le Mans-winning DNA.
