GMC's military heritage is one of the most significant in American automotive history. During World War II, GMC produced the CCKW 2.5-ton truck — known as the deuce-and-a-half — in numbers exceeding 560,000 units. The CCKW was the backbone of Allied logistics, transporting troops, ammunition, fuel, and supplies across every theater of war. GMC also produced the DUKW amphibious vehicle, which could travel on land and water and proved invaluable during beach landings including D-Day at Normandy. General Eisenhower called the DUKW one of the most important weapons of the war. These 3D domed wheel center cap emblems honor that founding role in winning the Second World War.
