The Lancia Thema 8.32 was one of the most audacious executive sedans of the late 1980s — a four-door Lancia powered by a Ferrari 3.2-liter flat-plane-crank V8 engine derived from the Ferrari 308 QV. The 8.32 designation referenced the engine's eight cylinders and 32 valves, and the 215-horsepower V8 gave the understated Thema sedan a level of performance and mechanical sophistication that few competitors could match. The Thema 8.32 featured a retractable rear spoiler, Alcantara and leather interior trim, and the knowledge that behind the modest exterior lurked a genuine Ferrari engine.
