The Lancia Aurelia B20 GT — produced from 1951 to 1958 — is widely considered one of the greatest grand touring cars ever built and was the first production car to feature a V6 engine. The Aurelia's 2.0-liter and later 2.5-liter V6 was designed by Vittorio Jano and featured an innovative 60-degree vee angle with an aluminium block and hemispherical combustion chambers. The B20 GT body — styled by Pinin Farina — combined elegant proportions with a pillarless coupé roofline that was strikingly modern for the early 1950s. The Aurelia B20 achieved notable competition success, winning its class at the Mille Miglia and Le Mans, proving that a refined grand tourer could compete against dedicated racing machinery.
