The Lotus 25 — introduced in 1962 — revolutionised racing car design by introducing the monocoque chassis to Formula One, replacing the traditional tubular space frame with a stressed-skin aluminium structure that was both lighter and stiffer. Colin Chapman's monocoque innovation inspired by aircraft construction principles provided Jim Clark with a car so superior to the competition that he won the 1963 World Championship by a dominant margin, finishing first in seven of the ten championship races he entered. The monocoque chassis concept that the Lotus 25 pioneered has been adopted by every racing car and virtually every road car built since, making it one of the most significant engineering innovations in automotive history. These 3D domed wheel center cap emblems carry that monocoque revolution heritage. Each emblem features the Lotus badge reproduced on premium automotive vinyl at 1,440 dpi with solvent-based inks for lasting accuracy. A thick dome of UV-stabilized polyurethane resin covers the print, forming a crystal-clear, scratch-resistant, waterproof surface. The adhesive is an industrial acrylic film.
