The Mazda RX-8 — produced from 2003 to 2012 — was the final production vehicle to feature the Wankel rotary engine, using the naturally aspirated Renesis 13B-MSP that won the International Engine of the Year award in 2003 for its innovative side-port exhaust design that improved emissions and fuel efficiency. The RX-8 featured a unique four-door layout with rear-hinged freestyle doors that provided access to the rear seats without a B-pillar, creating a practical four-seat sports car that maintained the front mid-engine, rear-drive layout and lightweight construction that defined the rotary Mazda experience. The Renesis engine's 9,000 rpm redline and free-revving character provided a driving experience that no piston engine could replicate. These 3D domed wheel center cap emblems honor that final rotary production car. Each emblem features the Mazda badge reproduced on premium automotive vinyl at 1,440 dpi with solvent-based inks for lasting accuracy. A thick dome of UV-stabilized polyurethane resin covers the print, forming a crystal-clear, scratch-resistant, waterproof surface. The adhesive is an industrial acrylic film.
