The development of Soul Red Crystal required Mazda's paint engineers to create an entirely new painting process — called Takuminuri — that applies the layers with unprecedented precision to create a finish that rivals the depth and richness of hand-lacquered Japanese urushi. Soul Red Crystal has become so iconic that it is the colour most closely associated with the Mazda brand worldwide, appearing on marketing materials, auto show displays, and the covers of automotive magazines. These 3D domed wheel center cap emblems complement that Soul Red Crystal presence. Each emblem features the Mazda badge reproduced on premium automotive vinyl at high resolution with fade-resistant solvent inks. A thick dome of UV-stabilized polyurethane resin covers the print, forming a crystal-clear, scratch-resistant, waterproof surface. The adhesive is an industrial acrylic film.
