The Mazda RX-2 — based on the Capella platform and sold from 1970 to 1978 — was one of the most successful rotary-powered sedans in Mazda's lineup, offering the smooth, high-revving character of the Wankel engine in a practical mid-size body that could serve as both a comfortable family car and an entertaining driver's car.
