The Mazda MX-5's gram strategy is one of the most rigorous weight-reduction programmes in the automotive industry, with engineers tasked with examining every single component in the car and finding ways to reduce its weight without compromising function, safety, or quality. During the development of the ND MX-5, Mazda engineers managed to reduce the weight by more than 100 kilograms compared to the NC generation by using thinner glass, lighter seat frames, smaller brake rotors matched to reduced weight, and optimised body structures that achieve the same strength with less material. The gram strategy extends to seemingly insignificant details — even the cupholders, sun visors, and speaker magnets were redesigned to save a few grams each, demonstrating the obsessive attention to weight reduction that defines the MX-5. These 3D domed wheel center cap emblems honor that obsessive gram strategy. Each emblem features the Mazda badge reproduced on premium automotive vinyl at 1,440 dpi with solvent-based inks for lasting accuracy. A thick dome of UV-stabilized polyurethane resin covers the print, forming a crystal-clear, scratch-resistant, waterproof surface. The adhesive is an industrial acrylic film. Clean the cap, peel, position the emblem, and press for thirty seconds. The bond is permanent — no tools, no clips, no drilling. Sizes from 20 mm to 120 mm. Custom diameters upon request.
