The YA-1 became known as Akatombo, meaning Red Dragonfly, after Yamaha Motor’s first motorcycle was completed in 1955. This historical name has no direct connection to the function of the current tank protector, which is intended for straightforward care of a motorcycle fuel tank. Suitable for a FLAT surface only, it helps protect the selected area from everyday surface scuffs and scratches without making broader protection claims. The product combines a premium vinyl base with a 3D domed resin coating, providing both the confirmed base material and a raised decorative surface. A self-adhesive backing is used for attachment, and the confirmed scratch-resistant, waterproof, tear-resistant and UV-resistant properties suit exposure to outdoor conditions. The Lux Signature treatment gives the accessory a distinctive visual character, while the Sleek Style direction complements a well-kept tank area. Its neat appearance during outdoor use is guaranteed for this product. Applying the protector to an appropriate section that commonly receives contact can help place the material between the fuel tank surface and ordinary marks from bags, clothing or general handling. The application remains limited to the suitable flat area identified for the tank surface, avoiding any suggestion of conformity to rounded or contoured sections. The outcome is focused everyday surface care with a coordinated finish.
